Pretty cool find: adaptive for kids.
Sorry, it's a bunch of images, so not super accessible. TLDR is that they built it mostly from cardboard and foam and it can be customized for each child's specific problems and measurements.

/ peeps, is there a mathematical formalisation of layout, navigation, etc as an optimisation problem?

One of the hardest things to track during the life of a project is the motivation behind certain decisions. A new person coming on to a project may be perplexed, baffled, delighted, or infuriated by some past decision. Without understanding the rationale or consequences, this person has only two choices:

- Blindly accept the decision.
- Blindly change it.

Maybe I should figure out a pipeline for working in Blender 2.80+ but using 2.79b for rendering. I really don't like Eevee's lighting system for this aesthetic. It's too fancy and the shadows look ugly unless you use a ginormous texture and even then there are weird artifacts.
Ooor I should write my own renderer... πŸ€”

feels about farm animals

For context, I've been vegetarian/best-effort-vegan for about 2 years now, but I know how offputting "obnoxious vegan" people can be, soooo, I'm trying to figure out how to communicate my values.

feels about farm animals

Visited relatives of V who have a small farm and they introduced us to their sheeps. This was our second visit and I finally bonded with the ram, who finally realized that I'm not dangerous and that getting pats and head scritches is a very enjoyable time.
But this makes it all the more weird that I know they'll be killed at some point. One of the owners joked about cutting off and cooking the wings of a flighty hen and... I didn't really know what to say.

What I learned:
hair is very hard to draw. Lineart doesn't directly translate to pixel textures. If the colors look weird, it might be the shader's fault. Try turning glossiness to 0.

Vash pats for @flydelion done! Or at least I don't think I can improve it any further.
Realized too late that maybe I should have used a different facial expression, but ah well. This works too.

Blendering stream in ~30 minutes!

Gonna finish texture painting Vash in and if I have time left over, maybe start on some TWEWY fanart I've been meaning to do.
Expect and misadventures!

boosts appreciated!

Did you know that #POWER9 support just landed in #GNU #Guix?
lists.gnu.org/archive/html/gui

Still work to do before it’s supported on the same level as other architectures, but that’s a big milestone!

Hopefully this will get me out of this ADD/ED hole I've been stuck in for way too long.

Stayed up way too late, but at least I accomplished something (however small it may be) in a single day:
git.sr.ht/~raingloom/with-env
I was putting off "dotfile hacking" as pointless, but it looks like the time has come once again for me to put in actual effort into tuning my software setup, because I was not getting much work done.

"The resulting monocrop condition of our network infrastructures do not provide an easy ground for peer-to-peer technologies to flourish.

Peer-to-peer protocol biodiversity is dosed with weed killer, while the client-server monocrop is fertilized." one.compost.digital/seeding-th

@mrus you can escape the service but not the climate change

This is a really obvious thing in hindsight. I used to get really tripped up thinking that composition was about lines and objects (A). Composition is actually about value (B).
