I've basically spent the whole weekend making music. I haven't been this inspired in a while. Maybe the many hours spent learning various instruments and techniques with no specific goal over the last few months (years?) are finally bearing fruit... But it's a strange feeling, since I'm now using that good old DAW I wanted to stay away from in the first place. It's funny how knowledge can be transposed from one tool to another once you've learned something worthwhile.
What's even more funny is I've worked on developing my rhythmic skills on physical instruments for quite a while, yet I'm now slapping unquantized beats all over the place. I guess they're an accurate representation of my still mediocre coordination, but I'm surprised I ended up literally humanizing my digital workspace, while I was supposed to get more accurate in the physical world. I guess I've learned how to free myself from the tyranny of computerized accuracy.
