I’ve just made my first gemstone stretch bracelet. Pretty simple, but I can’t decide if there are too many aventurine pearls or not. Maybe two, or even one, would have been enough. Or all three next to each other.

I’ve chosen this stone because the color looked close enough to the Merveilles teal, and also because I like the name. Other pearls are black agate.

I’m waiting for skull spacers for the next ones. The Goth in me was adamant about it.

Experimenting with the skull-shaped spacers I’ve just received... Clearly this will end up as a necklace.

Please, someone has to stop me before I open an Instagram account and start posting selfies.

I thought it would take me ages to make. It was as easy as it was quick. The size is perfect, spacers have adjusted way better than what I expected, and the knot is invisible. I feel like a 15-year old and it’s amazing.

@ice I think it's very beautiful! Well done!

@TQ Thank you! It was easier to make than I thought. Luckily, I even managed to not spill all the pearls everywhere, despite having quite a few opportunities to do so :) Next time I think I'll try to make a necklace.

@ice which reminds me, I have some of this clear elastics here, too! Bought it in case the little one's necklace broke, but that didn't happen yet. Maybe I'll do some fun things with it!
Thank you for the idea!

@TQ Haha, you're welcome :) Mine is still a little too young, but in a few months I hope to craft something for them.

I got a bundle with clear and black elastics because I wasn't sure what to use, and I used the black one. It's a tricky choice, because while black kind of looks better or more "natural" with black pearls when you stretch the bracelet, it also makes the knot more visible, even if it's tiny. Seems like I have a lot of experimentation to do!

@ice You're giving me ideas. I've always enjoyed their look but felt unsure about wearing this.

@thomasorus I was gifted one a couple of years ago, and I've been wearing it casually ever since on days when I remembered where I left it. I just realized recently that it was the kind of dead simple DIY project I could try for a change.

Some pearls and spacers can be overkill and can look way too new age or kitsch, but if you select your material carefully I think it can lead to interesting results.

@ice Aw, now I wish going around looking like a DnD character was a fashion thing

@detondev It's now officially totally a thing in my house. Not sure about the neighborhood, but it won't matter, they'll have no other choice but to submit to my dark arts.

@ice Oh no, next thing you know you have an Etsy store.

@ice That said, this necklace is really cool

@lilletale Thanks :) I think it's the first time ever I make a necklace, except maybe in kindergarten with noodles. No planning, no thinking, I just had to get some pearls and make it.

An Etsy store would be crazy, but I'll definitely make a few more of these things... I have some pearls left!

@ice that looks pretty bad-ass.

@dokoissho Haha, thanks! Now I have to start a metal band or something like that I guess.
