Sorting the most common glyphs for further adjustments before emoji export.

This is basically the linja sike font with a few almost invisible tweaks. Maybe I'll simplify some glyphs for readability's sake, in the spirit of sitelen pona pona. I still have some tests to do.

Also, it took me a while to understand the ku glyph (7th on the bottom line), but once you get it, it's pretty obvious and smart.

@ice Lemme know when you're reading to add them to the instance, I'll give you mod powers :D

@neauoire Awesome :) I may need a couple of days depending on how readable they are in various situations, for now it’s time to sleep. I think SVG should work, I saw vanilla Mastodon uses some SVG emoji (not sure about custom ones though.)

@ice will you put a stroke around them so they work on light and dark backgrounds?

@liaizon Oddly enough, they’re still very readable on a white background, so I’m not sure. I guess I could add a stroke with our current default background’s color and see if it improves readability. Or maybe something more subtle with a bit of transparency, so it doesn’t contrast too much.

@eris Oh, I haven’t looked into nimi ku pi suli ala yet, but yeah, this should be doable.

@ice :)

just asking because it's my word, haha!

@ice can I claim the little fox-like one, third from the left in the bottom row?

@dokoissho Maybe if you can spell it without copy and paste, but I don’t think anyone can. I sure can’t, it’s "kijetesantakalu", for procyonid. It’s a joke word but it’s pretty popular.

@ice so it's a kinkajou then? I think it's my spirit animal - tree-dwelling, fruit-eating carnivore, prehensile tail. Plus kijetesantakalu isn't that far away from kinkajou. kinkatopia.org/what-is-a-kinka

@dokoissho The definition states "procyonid" as the most accepted definition, and "musteloidea" as a secondary meaning. Before that, I always heard it just meant "raccoon".

But yeah you're probably right, it sounds a bit like "kinkajou" and technically it could be one. I had forgotten about this animal, now I feel like adding one into that game I need to resume working on, haha.

@ice that would probably be the first use of a kinkajou in a videogame.

@dokoissho I can't help but think about Marios' Tanuki costume.

@ice indeed, a kinkajou kirigumi costume seems like the way to go.

@ice soweli is so cute, I'm so happy with the collection you've uploaded already :tealheart:

@neauoire Glad you like them :) I’ve made many tiny tweaks to improve readability at small size but they come from the linja sike font.

@ice it is beautiful! Out of curiosity did you write, "by hand" the SVG or did you use a specific tool? I struggle to make vector icon for my website ^^'

@xvw Thanks :) I didn't design these myself though, they come from the linja sike font (but I made numerous small tweaks to improve readability.) I'm using Affinity Designer, it's a great alternative to Adobe products. It's not free, but a lot cheaper and way less bloated.
