Hi! My creative self didn’t have much room to grow in my life so far, so I came here to nourish it.
I live in northern Germany and I’m interested in Linux, FOSS, visual art and embedded devices. I love stickers and listening to music.
See you around!
I find the stuff that Hundred Rabbits are doing with relatively ancient and minimal hardware/software and breathing new life into them, a breath of fresh air on this front.
Also I’d like to require only one power supply for it to run, but the display runs on 12V. Can I just split the 12V from the display driver board for a voltage regulator that then supplies the raspberry pi? 🤔
This is ending up more expensive than I thought 😅
I’ll focus first on figuring out if/how I’m going to fit everything in there. The display driver board will take a while from China and probably take up a good chunk of space.
The gap might actually be great for the display cable later 🤔
This is going to be the base for my "cyberdeck" project (for the lack of a better name yet).
Let’s hope the TKC-1800 PCB will fit in there so I can get some MX clears in there.
Ideally, if the new PCB is small enough, I’ll fit a Raspberry Pi 4 in there by taking the magnet card reader out and mount the display of my old Thinkpad on it.
It will also get a sling to carry it across the venue of future Chaos Computer Club events.
...at least that’s the idea ;)
