So lemons float in water and limes sink.

Oranges float, but sink if you peel them.

The reason for the orange floating is that the skin is porous and has air pockets. Remove the skin and it sinks.

The skin on a lemon is thicker than an lime so I figure its the same.

Peeled a lemon and a lime.

Lime sinks lemon floats still.


From this little experiment I infer limes must be more dense than lemons.
