I have never met anyone who doesn’t like birds; who, when a bird perches on something nearby, doesn’t take a little pleasure at the presence of a little friend from the sky.

And I hope I never do.

@jameschip I think most people who look at a bird in flight think for a moment "how wonderful and free to fly like that". It seems to follow that when most birds look at a person they think "God those heavy ungainly things must be miserable."

@jameschip I have a distinct memory from my childhood of watching a finch fly straight through a chain link fence by tucking its wings in at just the right moment to pass through a link. Its probably mundane to them, to a degree.
