I spent parts of January working on a new kind of search engine. Instead of indexing the unfathomable internet, it focuses on enabling search for neighbourhoods of related websites—webrings, or other kinds of topically similar sites.

The search engine is called Lieu.
Try it out: lieu.cblgh.org
See the code: github.com/cblgh/lieu

moving next week to a new place closer to the ocean. so excited to be across the street from golden gate park too. i'm so restless though knowing i'm going to move, feeling like i just want to pack everything up way ahead of time

i had a dream last night about collaborating on a piece of art with this wild, layered, 2d digital collage software with merveilles people. i woke up in a great mood :merveilles:

whats the most inspiring team you've ever worked on/with? what made it inspiring?

recorded a bop for what will likely be my only participation of - its a single take so i think it counts as a jam haha

i notice a lot of interest in toki pona. as a linguist, i've studied some conlangs and have always had an interest in the general sense. toki pona, however, hasn't stood out to me like it does to some people. does anyone have any longer form writing they'd recommend on "why toki pona" or something similar? i'd love to know more motivations for why ppl are into it and want to use it

I could not stop thinking about orca on a ti89 last night 😂 sounds like... waaay too much fun?

Wow today I realized mastodon has direct messages which for some reason I had no idea existed? Pretty cool 🌿

Prospect (2018) was incredible. I think it was maybe my favorite movie I watched in 2020

finally finished neuromancer! kind of glad to have finished it, it got a bit numbing about half way through for me. part of reading it felt like just becoming more literate in sci-fi. but another part of me is amazed at how much the work influenced - its hard to unsee now. i feel relieved oddly now that its over though haha

Anyone wanna give me a rundown on why Gemini is so cool?

got a new recording interface this week that can do *eight* simultaneous inputs. which is pretty fun to just turn record on and just see what you capture. outside of a little level adjustment, this is basically a live recording. also i made a little llama icon using dotgrid ^__^
