This leads to a contempt for the past. Too much of what was created in the last fifty years is gone because no one took care to preserve it.

Terrified of this "return to normalcy" rhetoric

Last time around it fostered Trumpism. If you relax in your normalcy, what will keep that from happening again?

Is there any centralized site like instructables used to be in 2007-2010ish? I learned a lot about DIY, hobbies, etc. from random/browsing it and miss that inspiration in most of the new content there.

deeply recommend this read--- please ignore the title as it's fundamentally not about trump, but a winding beautiful synthesis ranging from early internet culture, illuminati, qanon, hunter s. thompson, gnosticism... and the point: a proper definition of fascism.

and the accompanying art is astonishing.

I'm rethinking my tracking program after reading more about other home grown time tracking tools and am determined to keep it plaintext. @neauoire's Tablatal was a good starting point and gave me a fun exercise to make a parser for it.

Just set my homepage to show me how long I got left using this appropriately spooky page from @joshavanier

Calling snack people with a sweet tooth: what is your go to NON sugary snack? I need alternatives to cut down my intake. Nuts and seeds are always good, but curious what y’all do

I just spent an hour trying to debug a recursion puzzle I was almost positive I solved, only to realize that my use of `var` and not `let` caused it to fail.

The benefit is now I know have first hand concrete experience of why to use `let` and `const` over `var`.
