Not sure when I’ll do it but soon I’m gonna live toot a for-fun OSINT investigation into an apartment complex. It’s a very old building that’s been remodeled, but a friend of mine in his early 40’s just told me a story about how he used to break into it when it was an abandoned military hospital from WW2. He found a basement and some weird stuff back then...but we can’t seem to find any info about it other than it was “over flow hospital for WW2 injuries”. I might get to do a freedom of information act pull on the facility.
People might also not know Mastodon is not the only type of social media sites that interact here.
There is also:

Peertube (Like YouTube)
(You can see how they look in the pictures in the order that they are mentioned)

What worries me the most about Cloud hype is that there's this whole cult of the Expertise Of Giant Companies that goes along with it. The value proposition being actively sold is 'it's actually more secure to give all your data to the biggest company possible than to hold it yourself!'
Which would be maybe fine IF being the biggest company meant being the most ethical? But we know that isn't how the market works.
