Pinned toot

Hello World!

My name is João but i'm better known as Mitch. I'm from Porto, Portugal and i've 28yrs.

I'm a digital designer, currently freelancing for UNIT9.

I love meditating, surfing, listening to music and design.

I'm here because i want to learn and because i want to develop my own website/life repository where i will be able to see the full picture of my life as the days pass by.

I hope we can learn with each other.

Hey guys! Sorry for being so off lately but been super busy with work :/ I came here today so i could get some info from you guys. Does anyone recommend me a cool external display for my Macbook Pro Retina (from 2015)? I'm working mainly in UI and once in a while do some photocomps/photo editing. I've searched a bit and i've found out that if i want 4k it should be 24''..bigger than that i should look to 5k monitors. Can you tell me what you use and give me some recommendations? Thanks y'all!

Quick update on my 3D logoform project:

First off, I figured all the math out. My last attempt's positions were weird fractions, because Rezmason v21.5 used √2 in the logo. It's a ten year long self-troll. 👹 Anyway, the positions of things are now much cleaner!

The off-the-shelf halftone shader I'd used was absolutely choking on larger canvas sizes, so I swapped it with someone's ten year old Shadertoy code, with minor modifications (read: bug fixes).

Tonight it becomes an STL!

Just signed up for a 10 day silent meditation retreat (Vipassana) in April. Something different.
:)

I'm just gonna put it out there: if you decide to run a federated social media server of any kind, strongly consider keeping it invite only and capping its size from the beginning. If your server has fewer than 100 active people on it and you have some level of trust or shared values, then moderation is a single person task that you as the admin can handle. At least in my experience.

I'm considering writing a "how to run a nice little community in the fediverse" guide with some best practices.

I’m learning so much by taking part in the fediverse.. now I know what TERF means, I’m becoming even more #anticapitalist, learned about #solarpunk, exposed to a wide variety of folks and viewpoints. Thanks, :fediverse: !

I'm telling you, Macromedia Fireworks will have it's dedicated cult sooner than everyone thought

Hi people!

It's been pretty busy on my side but i still got some time to move on with my own "CyberMunk Alphabet". What do you think about it so far? :trisight:

I'm not that into promoting another platforms around here but if you want, please have a look at my IG or Dribbble account (my handle is @cyberianmunk on both of those platforms) to follow the process and see more details.

I've decided to start creating some letters using Dotgrid. It's been super fun to use it so far :) I love having limitations when doing something creative...it makes my brain stop being so lazy and start working properly. I will call this alphabet "CyberMunk Alphabet", what do you think? :enso:

Anyone can recommend some good references to learn how to do ramen at home?
