Few more cyanotypes I made recently. The third was created from a digital negative printed onto a transparency.

@jakub every time I see your profile image I think it's this image I shot on 120 film!

After an hour under the light I pulled one for development and successfully got a print! here is right before and after development in a water bath. I then put it through a water + hydrogen peroxide bath to oxidate the print intensifying the blues.

I read that fluorescent bulbs emit some UV light so I decided to set up a photo light to try and expose them the rest of the way. I wasn't sure how well it would work but it actually worked really well! after 30 min. there was noticeable change in the color of the print.

It was an overcast day and I needed strong UV light to expose the prints but I wanted to do an experiment to see how long it would take without sun. After 1hr went by there wasn't much change and the sun had pretty much set.

I finally purchased some materials for making cyanotypes and received them in the mail a couple days ago! Yesterday I made a small amount of solution and developed my first few. I'm suuuper excited about this, I plan to make a gelatin emulsion and make some cyanotypes on glass 😍

I'm thoroughly enjoying my time here on Mastodon, especially in Merveilles. This is such a rich community. Every time I hop on I learn things and am inspired to be better and to create more all while connecting with others. This is what I want out of social media.

I just want to live in a room full of plants, with the outside also being a dense forest of greenery.

Here's to a new year filled with new things and good work

Chamomile tea with honey is special to me. Mild and calm in taste, Scent likewise, with warmth. Drizzling the honey, has a calming effect. I enjoy illustration, and hope to some day create a small art book with my illustrated creations. I can be hard on myself, but am learning to treat myself kindly instead. I'm currently working on a small pixel game, and hope to make more simple games in the future. I'm here to learn, share, and be inspired. I hope I can do the same for you.

few more from the expired roll of 35mm color film, developed in caffenol-c (coffee + vitamin c + washing soda)

A friend and I recently experimented with some dry plate photography and got some interesting results. This was our first time coating a plate with light sensitive emulsion and the first few came out pretty uneven due to the emulsion congealing too quickly. We also didn't have a long enough exposure time to get an image, but the texture of the plates was still pretty amazing to look at.
