i was able to connect my mechanical keyboard to my 2016 ipad for use as a writing device away from my desktop.
it just took some tweaks to the qmk firmware (used tips from this article: https://danielpietzsch.com/articles/planck-with-ios)
and all my text-editing shortcuts work on the mobile operating system. satisfying...
i stopped writing regularly for a few months, it actually became a somewhat compulsive and unhelpful thing for me at one point. but it feels time to start again now, so i will try to find a good rhythm.
@palomakop you have got a really nice space. Those plants are lovely !
@palomakop I have a similar setup and use iSh. What text editing or terminal are you running? I’m always looking for better suggestions.
@exquisitecorp currently using ia writer. i am planning to switch to obsidian once i can get my previous notes ported over in an organized way.
@palomakop I recommend at trying to port everything to Obsidian as-is and then using the sidebar with "unlinked mentions" to link together everything you need *as* you need it.
This has worked for me twice (with my original move from Evernote and then another from Ulysses). One time it turned into a complete disaster because I had a mix of .txt and .md files and couldn't get them to play nice together.
in my perfect fantasy i would use something like this (but of course i was trying not to obtain any new (old) objects for this purpose)
