This morning, the "calm before the storm" while setting up the local "Repair Café. We fixed all sort of electronics, clothes, bikes... You name it!
My personal highlight is that one of my former students was there with me, and I was learning a lot about practical soldering from him.
A small thing maybe, but it makes me proud of the choices that got me there.
Some interesting reflections on how we can rethink our epistemology to maintain the ability to make sense of the world around us in this era of post-truth and, in the authors' words, unreality.
The first piece and the one by Benjamen Walker are particularly recommended.
My name is Clemens and I am a co-founder and creative director of Vienna-based collaborative hub/game studio Broken Rules, who is probably most known for a game called Old Man's Journey:
My current goal is to start building and contributing more towards FOSS.
Holy shit @npisanti what is this?!
This is _so_ good! I understand why you might not want to call it a finished work, but I really, really like it.
Enzo Mari "Autoprogettazione" license:
(Anyone, except for manufacturers and traders, may use these designs to make them by themselves. The author hopes that this idea will remain in the future and asks that those who buid the furniture, and especially variations of it, send photos to his studio at 10 piazzale Baracca - 20123, Milan).
My second foray in #theDarkroom
Ok, in order to help me learn Spanish, I switched the system language on my phone. It helps me get familiar with some technical words I only know in English and I figured I know enough of how a phone works to guess the ones I don't know in Spanish.
One thing though, you shld NEVER translate the name of an application. There is this app in #Fdroid, called "Barcode Scanner". Great App btw. It took me 3 days to find it in the repo because it's been translated to "Escáner de codigo de barras".
@neauoire I think it's even harder for people who can sense their potential threshold is high. I know that I can do A LOT and so I expect A LOT from myself without ever practicing. Increased pressure since I am starting so late.
One of the elements of alternative culture I want to cultivate here on Merveilles / Mastodon is praising the slow build, the day after day progress. Celebrate the journey
Exploring the world in all possible ways. Nothing human is alien to me.
Merveilles is a community project aimed at the establishment of new ways of speaking, seeing and organizing information — A culture that seeks augmentation through the arts of engineering and design. A warm welcome to any like-minded people who feel these ideals resonate with them.
