Really vibing to old albums of the BBC radiophonic workshop these days:

@harrysentonbury Oh I didn't knew this resource thanks! I love her work so much ~

@ritualdust Related, I recommend the Cosey Fanni Tutti helmed doc 'Delia Derbyshire: The Myths And The Legendary Tapes'. There's another from 2003 called 'Alchemists of Sound' about the Radiophonic workshop.

Potentially related is 1973s 'Legend of Hell House'. Not a great movie itself, but a banging unreleased Radiophonic soundtrack. It's full of warm hauntology aesthetics and spooky reel-to-reel tape tech.

Ghost Box Records might be of interest too, if you aren't already familiar with them.

@flatmountain oh sweet thanks for that! I'm definitely adding these docs and the movie to my watchlist :) I don't mind mediocre movies with amazing soundtracks haha

And yes I've found out about ghost box records first actually and that led me down the path of the radiophonic workshop ~ It's a big inspiration for my personal music actually

@ritualdust Ahh that's cool, Ghost Box is great. Unfortunately I have a few lingering personal connections to the label and find it makes me too sad to listen to any of their releases these days.

Music unearths memories.

Or, music evokes ghosts. Whatever.

@flatmountain I understand I have a lot of albums with strong lingering memories attached to them. It's bittersweet, I'm glad it allows me to travel back to these times but it often comes with some painful feelings indeed ~
