just learned about Durrell Bishop's Marble Answering Machine (1992), a creative tangible device to visualize and interact with voice messages represented as marbles 🤩

@wendy i liked it too! i took it from this book i'm reading, Where the Action Is: The Foundations of Embodied Interaction (2004)

this chapter was about tangible computing, next one is about social computing, and i understand that from those the author will construct the concept of embodied interaction 🤓

@sejo An old idea of mine was that an executive desk would be studded with chrome fixtures that let the executive perform certain clerical input gestures, like a kitchen faucet but for sifting through correspondence and stamping documents
