The magic of open source is that you can change things to be whatever you want, but I think we should acknowledge the effort that takes too.
Context: there's a package I'm using at work that, at first, seemed to fit a need we had—but integrating it into our large codebase is a nightmare because it's not really built to run tests on every single file we have. The next step from here seems to be to either change it ourselves or to wait for the maintainer, and either of those feel like a lot.
@somnius the good thing about open source is you can change things to be how you want.
the bad thing about open source is you have to change things to be how you want.
Revel in the marvels of the universe. We are a collective of forward-thinking individuals who strive to better ourselves and our surroundings through constant creation. We express ourselves through music, art, games, and writing. We also put great value in play. A warm welcome to any like-minded people who feel these ideals resonate with them.
