Merveilles, slack

Hey all, is anyone able to sign into the Merveilles slack? I'm completely unable to and I'm getting an error screen when I try

Hey all, we've gotten a pretty steady influx of invite requests to the instance lately and it's getting a bit too much for me to send out invites. So, I'm reopening new account applications for our instance! merveilles.town/about

This should help things get a bit easier for me to handle and it should be easier for folks to make requests to sign up.

The following was posted as an announcement on snouts.online. Here is the full text for those on mobile and those not on the instance:

hello fellow white people. it's easy to post "fuck the police" and say "i would never call the police" and listen to millions of dead cops and think 1312 thoughts but! have you considered what you would do INSTEAD of calling the fash? no? how about a lil homework:

activism, BLM

I'm pretty heartened to see that so many people in the company that I work at are actively trying to protest, donate to pro-BLM organizations, and so much more. We need more of this, it's far from over.

I've been donating to bail funds and I also help run an employee resource group at work. I'll be helping to divert my ERG's yearly budget to an employee-ran matching fund too. Here's hoping that this really helps with the current situation here.

Hey all—after looking up some things, I have enabled Secure Mode on Merveilles.town! I figure it's been long enough since the release of 3.0.0 so most instances should be compatible with ours at this point, and it gives us a bit tighter security as well.

For more info, check out the blog post about this when it was originally released for 3.0.0: blog.joinmastodon.org/2019/10/

Stay powerful.

Protests, lockdown, uspol

There's shit going down in the USA right now, in cities all across the country. Black men keep dying at the hands of police. I'm outraged at the people in power not stepping up and doing what they should be doing to keep people safe. I'm angry at the police brutality I'm seeing at protests against police brutality.

I hope we can get through this. If you want to help, there are resources here: blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/

Last night I set up a dev environment for the instance, finally! The folks working on Mastodon have a rough draft of a guide to set one up, and I followed it for the instance: docs.joinmastodon.org/dev/setu

Now I can test changes locally before merging them in!

Good morning from a very ☀️ San Francisco! :xoka: :merveilles:

It was also Pansexual Awareness Day yesterday! Shout-out to all the lovely people who identify as such, and I count myself as one of them. 💗💛💙

Since I'm on a roll today, welcome to Mastodon v3.1.4, Merveilles ✨

Looks like this was a tinier release with bugfixes and some back-end changes.

Here are the release notes if you're curious! github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/

Merveilles meta, payments

Hey all! I know a few folks have requested alternative donation methods to Patreon, and now we have a few to choose from. Here are all of them:

patreon.com/merveillestown
ko-fi.com/merveillestown
opencollective.com/merveilles
liberapay.com/merveilles/

I'll add these to the description and documentation shortly. Please boost if you'd prefer to donate to the other platforms instead of Patreon!

Been working on a note to include with the stickers~ here's a hint >:3

Merveilles.town Financials, April 2020

Was quite late with this report, thanks for your patience!

Also, thanks to everyone who sent in their info to get stickers! I think I have enough requests to start sending them out to people now as well.

I won't be taking any more requests for the moment so I can focus purely on sending those stickers out. I have a nice surprise in store, too—I'll keep you all posted :3

Thanks so much, and keep on being your lovely selves!

Hey all, thanks for sending your DMs for the Merveilles stickers! I'm working until ~6pm-ish my time (PDT) but once that's done I'll get around to answering them :3

This might get pretty expensive, but I've never done anything like this before, so I don't know how expensive it really will get!

If you'd like to make a one-time donation, feel free to send some cash to our ko-fi here: ko-fi.com/merveillestown

Or if you'd like to donate regularly, we have a Patreon: patreon.com/merveillestown

This is not required, but is much appreciated!
