@stephen Thanks a ton for those CSS changes! Those are now merged & deployed.
Put up this pull request on the merveilles-town fork: https://github.com/merveilles/merveilles-town/pull/544
This way, I'll be able to keep track of PRs in a much better way, without dealing with all the noise of every single update Dependabot pings us about.
Hoo boy, it looks like the upgrade process to Mastodon v3.3.0 is a bit involved, so I'll have to take this one a bit slowly. There are some exciting features packed in here though! https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/releases/tag/v3.3.0
Merveilles meta, update
This release includes these changes: https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/releases/tag/v3.2.2
Our instance just turned 2 years old!
Just as a tiny bit of history. Merveilles comes from a little IRC channel from many years ago to bring together a few people who played a small MMO with that same name.
Eventually we realized that a bunch of us had similar interests and started to build things together like Waiting for Horus, Paradise, etc..
I've got to meet lots of amazing folks working on incredible things through this. And, I love coming here.
Er, to clarify: Merveilles as The Town, on Mastodon, has officially been around for two years. The Merveilles group has been around for much longer, before I knew it existed. So cheers to the lovely folks hopping on IRC that really got this group started 🖤
For all those who are interested in a merveilles meetup in eastern canada next year, I've created a poll here:

original thread here:
Ah, I found the image! It's hosted here: https://bookviewcafe.com/blog/2015/07/20/some-people-are-just-as-equal/
Heh, this little blurb by LeGuin is both cute and insightful: https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/ursula-k-le-guin-some-people-are-just-as-equal-as-others
Though it references an image not included in that library, I wonder what that image is?
Merveilles instance meta, mini-postmortem
After navigating around, I found this little article that was amazingly helpful: https://www.cyberithub.com/how-to-delete-elasticsearch-unassigned-shards/
It even includes some commands you can run in order to see the status of your shards, which is nice!
Merveilles instance meta, mini-postmortem
Okay, update on the issue that just happened: looks like the "shards" that elasticsearch uses got stuck in a "recovered" state and were still trying to recover themselves even after they were removed. I guess whatever issue caused that also caused the logs to greatly inflate in size.
I ran a command to wipe those shards and start fresh, but I'm going to leave full-text search off until the index rebuilds. Thanks all!
We have a winner for the Merveilles Book Club, and it's *The Unreal and the Real by Ursula Le Guin*!
For the first meetup, I propose Jan 3rd (so we can celebrate New Year's together!) at 8AM Central European.
It's not ideal, but it's the only time when it's not deep night for our timezones (CET, PST, JST).
In the future, maybe we can do a round-robin timezone rotation?
Feedback about this?
Also, feel free to DM me if you need help in finding a copy of the book.
