Chisai is now available for everyone! 🔥

It's a microsite generator, editable and hosted on github. Everything is pre-configured and it's easy to customize the content. :cooldog:

Guide/How to:

Chīsai is aimed at people who need a free solution to have their own small space on the internet without falling into the CMS install and maintenance craziness.

It answers three very important things for me when it comes to websites:

1. It should be easy to modify by someone else
2. It should be durable and long lasting
3. Each person should own the code of its website

That's why, despite not liking centralization, it uses Github. It's a first step into OWNING the code + durable hosting.

@thomasorus This looks amazing, real good stuff! Love the documentation and guides for it :D

@somnius Thanks! It was super important to me to guide new users that never used Github, Markdown or edited code before. I'm not sure anyone will actually use it but if it happens, it has to be doable.

@thomasorus I really like this solution :) If I had access to this before I jumped into 11ty, I would have so used this!

If you want to make it even more approachable by people who never did any code and would just want to make a tiny site, I would package those .py files into executables, so a person can just double click build and have a site ready to upload :)

@thomasorus Nice! I really liked how you managed to resolve the "issue" of dates, last year I tried making something similar and I went the long way by including a header in each of my posts. That was a mistake, really like the way you did it.

@furtivo I’m glad you noticed! I really did not want any header in the file because there was no way to automate its creation with it. The only solution was the file name.

@thomasorus these are all so cool thank you!! going to explore using something similar for my own site : )
