Got a plumber to check my hot water tank, he said it was super old and maybe I will have to change a part, but there's nothing to do until it dies. Also discussed new type of tanks and he told me almost all of them have electronics and it's very often the point of failure. I know it's natural to increase features in products but I'm still shocked people add SOFTWARE to home appliance that must live for 10+ years.

I mean if you add some basic off the network stuff why not. But a wifi connected hot water tank? Electric heaters with an app? Yeah it's convenient but... the app will be gone in like, 5 years.

gee, which one causes more washer sales? hang on, I’ll get there, I passed accounting with a D… 🙃
