The magic of open source is that you can change things to be whatever you want, but I think we should acknowledge the effort that takes too.
Context: there's a package I'm using at work that, at first, seemed to fit a need we had—but integrating it into our large codebase is a nightmare because it's not really built to run tests on every single file we have. The next step from here seems to be to either change it ourselves or to wait for the maintainer, and either of those feel like a lot.
