what if people who consider the cup half empty consider a cup as usually being full, like it is missing something if it is only half full, and people who consider the cup half full don't think of a cup as something that usually is full, rather just a container that occasionally gets filled but is usually empty. in this way of thought the optimist/pessimist roles are reversed
